Why might a firm move client data out of TaxDome into a more flexible system like Airtable?
1:01:26From the June 3 call · MCP Connectors, Custom Portals, and AI Tax Workflows in Practice
A member described switching away from TaxDome after moving into advisory work and wanting to show reports and other client-facing data. TaxDome worked fine for pure tax work, but data got "stuck in there and siloed" with no way to extract it for other uses (like feeding it to AI tools). By moving the backend to Airtable, they can connect tools like Claude and Gemini directly to the data and build custom client-facing views, rather than being locked into TaxDome's structure. Another participant agreed, comparing being stuck in TaxDome's data silo to "being in jail" with client data.
