Getting started

Where should someone with no technical background start if they want to build automations with Claude?

48:29From the May 20 call · OpenAccountants Skills, MCP Servers for QBO, and Token Strategy

The suggested starting point is to tell Claude a specific problem in your accounting firm — something tedious or something you wish you could automate — and ask it to give ideas for what could be built together to fix it. One member confirmed they do this all the time: think of any problem, no matter how out there it sounds, and Claude can often surprise you with solutions. The broader goal discussed is using Claude like a staff accountant or intern by giving it API access to as many of your systems as possible, since API access is a more secure connection method than alternatives like Claude for Chrome, which was noted as slow and less safe (with prompt injection risk raised as a concern, attributed to prior comments from 'Jason').
