What is Whisper Flow and how does it help when working with Claude or writing emails?

Whisper Flow is a free voice-to-text tool (it can become paid if you use it heavily, though one member said they've stayed on the free tier). You hold down a key combination (Control + Windows key on the member's setup) anywhere on your computer and it transcribes your speech directly into whatever text box your cursor is in, in any program. Unlike typical talk-to-text features, it was described as extremely accurate — handling paragraph breaks, punctuation ('comma, comma'), bullet points, and even correcting itself if you stumble while speaking, all without errors even with background noise. It's used to 'brain dump' conversationally to Claude, allowing more information to be conveyed than typing would allow, and it also works well for drafting emails quickly. The main limitation noted is that it's awkward to use when other people are in the room since you have to talk out loud.
