What are Connectors/MCP in Claude and how can they be used in a firm?

24:40From the June 2 call · Beginner Lab: Claude Basics, Custom GPTs, and Practice Wins

In the Claude 'Customize' area, you can connect various tools you use — these connections are referred to as Connectors, which is what people mean by 'MCP.' Once connected, Claude can act across those tools without you leaving the Claude interface: for example, pulling a summary of posts from a community platform, posting to Twitter, pulling files from Google Drive, or sending an email. Some more advanced users have built their own custom MCP connectors — one example mentioned was a member who built a QuickBooks connector, shared on a prior call.
