How should I handle clients who push back on my advice by citing something ChatGPT told them?

58:17From the June 2 call · Beginner Lab: Claude Basics, Custom GPTs, and Practice Wins

Members shared frustration with clients who ask a question, get a wrong answer from ChatGPT, and then argue with it — for example, insisting they can take a deduction that year when they can't. The suggested approach is to explain clearly why the AI's answer is incorrect, and to recognize that a client repeatedly doing this may be a sign of a trust problem: the relationship is built on the client trusting their accountant, and if they don't, it may be worth considering whether that client is a good fit going forward (one member noted the specific client who did this is no longer a client). There was also a lighter comment that the volume of returns needing amendment due to bad AI-sourced advice could become significant, half-joking that tax resolution work might become a growth area.
