How does ClickUp compare to Notion for practice management, and is it too open-ended to be useful?

Members using ClickUp and Notion both noted the tools are similarly powerful but can feel 'too open' — you can build almost anything with them, which is both the best and worst part. One member who built their firm's practice management system on Notion said it was a blessing and a curse because it could be shaped into literally anything, but noted they wish Claude had existed when they built it, since it would have saved money and sped up the build. The group's view is that having an open-ended tool is more manageable now because AI can help guide the setup and decision-making. One member also shared that a client added them directly into the client's ClickUp workspace to receive assigned AP and accounting tasks, which has worked very well for that particular (high-value) client relationship, though they wouldn't do this for every client.
