How can I get Claude to repeat a task the same way every time instead of rewriting the prompt each time?

One member asked Claude directly whether a repeated workflow should be turned into a 'skill' or a 'project.' Claude recommended making it a skill and walked them through the setup. Now, instead of re-entering the prompt every time, they just paste in the relevant data (in this case, financials) and ask for something like an executive summary, and Claude produces it the same way every time because it references the saved skill.
