How can Claude's Excel add-in help automate financial statement preparation and complex spreadsheet work for a fractional CFO practice?

One member described using the Claude Excel add-in to analyze years of monthly trial balance data by line item, and Claude proactively asked whether to generate a general financial statement, then produced one without further input. The same person had Claude write a sophisticated VBA macro they could not have written themselves. This automated a process that previously took about six hours per month per client (pulling bookkeeper-posted data into finished financial statements for the fractional CFO's management reporting) down to about 20 seconds, freeing up capacity. They noted consistency as a benefit -- the output is the same and correct every time, removing worry about missed steps. They were unsure whether their usage justified the $200 Claude plan versus the $20 plan, but said the $20 tier alone was well worth it for this use case.
