Has anyone solved the problem of importing/pulling data out of tax software like CCH or UltraTax via API?

One member said they did solve it, but called it painful. They noted CCH's APIs are 'probably some of the worst APIs' they've ever seen, though at least CCH has APIs at all. Another member is on UltraTax. The consensus was that these legacy tax software platforms were built decades ago and their APIs are arduous to work with and not improving. Even newer tax research tools reportedly aren't using APIs yet, which one member flagged directly to a vendor as a roadmap question, noting that if you can integrate tax research via API, you could vibe-code your own portal and pull tax research directly into it.
